Shawn enlisted in the Navy on June 2001 as an Aviation Boatswain’s Mate- Aircraft Handling/ Crash and Salvage crewman on the USS Belleau Wood (LHA3) in San Diego California. Shawn did two Western Pacific deployments supporting Operation Enduring Freedom 2002 and Operation Iraqi Freedom 2003. In 2008 Shawn changed his military occupation to a Hospital Corpsman. Since then, he has served at multiple duty stations supporting Navy and Marine Corps commands. Shawn was stationed in Billings MT, attached to 4th L.E. Delta Company as the commands senior medical department representative. Shawn will officially retire from the US Navy end of March 2025.
